A walk in the woods…

A walk in a snow covered woods reminded me that…

  • Silence allows one to hear the cries of birds, water running under icy streams and boots pressing footprints in the snow…
  • Sunlight bouncing off crystallized snow sparkles as brightly as diamonds
  • Clouds moving through twisted tree limbs with an azure sky back drop makes an amazing moving picture
  • Windblown snow lain precisely on masts of trees creates a beautiful painted canvas
  • Being mindful – present – in the moment – in the woods is much like meditating. Consciously bringing a wondering mind back to “now” takes continuous practice…
  • That incredible beauty is free. All around us.

Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God.  George Washington Carver

Here’s to the next time… and listening to the voice…
